Portrait of the Week

17.52

“A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015.”

Berlin: She is nearing three years old now, and we have yet to get this pacifier out of her mouth. In all fairness, I don’t think we have given it a valiant effort yet. But even whisper the words “no more paci,” and the kid flips out.

I am totally obsessed with extreme close-ups of Berlin. I mean really, at one point later in life, does anyone look this amazing close-up?! I can’t help but capture her soft, delicate, perfect skin and features. Let’s hope she is one of the lucky few that holds onto this delicate, unscathed skin.

Such a sweet picture! My son still had his paci at the same age. At the time I was concious of it, but I look back now and realise how young he still was and that it was such a comfort for him. And then when the time was right he let it go.

So true. Thanks for your words of wisdom mama!

  • I love close ups to particularly when they show all those lovely eye lashes. I was lucky in the fact that I didn’t use a dummy (aussie speak) for pacifier and then when I tried with my daughter she spat it out and didn’t want it so I didn’t have to go through the whole get rid of the pacifier thing. Maybe they can be “traded” for a special toy inside to cuddle when otherwise the pacifier would be used…and they say “bye bye” to the pacifier……it’s a tough road from what I hear, good luck with it all.
